• To prevent unauthorized people from using the Gestetner F104 Series, Restricted Access

requires that the user first enter a passcode before faxing or copying. Not only does this

limit use to authorized personnel, it allows the user to monitor machine usage by user or

department. In addition, the user can set the time at which Restricted Access is turned on or

off. For example, he/she may wish to restrict access after business hours.

• ID Transmission, also called Closed Network, is an ideal feature for sending documents

containing confidential or sensitive information. Fax transmissions are limited to destination

machines of the same make and with the same stored ID. If, for example, the user enters the

wrong fax number – one the system does not recognize – the transmission is terminated,

eliminating potential misuse or accidental misdirecting of faxes.
